Christopher and his family write:

Dear Make A Wish,

We wanted to take this opportunity to thank you for your incredible generosity in providing an incredible weekend in Boston for our family. We will truly have memories that will last a lifetime. Our son, Christopher, wished to meet Rocco Baldelli, who plays right field for the Boston Red Sox and is Christopher's favorite baseball player. Mr. Baldelli has suffered from an unknown condition whereby his muscles fatigue easily. Since our son was diagnosed with muscular dystrophy, it was understandable why our son found inspiration in such an incredible person as Mr. Baldelli.

The people at the Make A Wish Foundation did an amazing job of planning this trip on our behalf. We were overwhelmed by the amount of detail and attention paid to our specific trip. We were not anticipating the transportation, accommodations, spending money and meals to be fully provided for. The private tour of Fenway Park on Saturday was unbelievable (Christopher loved the "Green Monster" seats) as well as the tickets provided by the Red Sox for the game that night against the Tampa Bay Rays ( an 8-1 Red Sox win). The highlight of the weekend; however, was the joy we received when Christopher me Mr. Baldelli prior to the fame. Mr. Baldelli is a true professional on and off the field. He took the time to give Christopher a personal tour of the clubhouse, introduced Christopher to some of the other players, and spent time with our whole family in the dugout afterwards. He was kind enough to give Christopher an autographed bat and ball that he cherishes to this day.

Our trip was planned so that we were provided with additional time to do as we wished on both Sunday and Monday. We spent these days touring the historical sites of Boston. Although Christopher fatigues easily, he was determined to make the most of this weekend and never complained once. He was determined once again to not let his muscular disorder stop him!

Our family is grateful for your generosity. Christopher loves playing baseball and having met someone that he can relate to on a professional level had provided a tremendous amount of inspiration for him going forward. He is already looking forward to the spring when baseball starts up again. Our family has become huge fans of the Make A Wish Foundation and can only hope we could someday do the same for another child in need.
