Blue Bell, PA - Commonwealth National Golf Club provided a beautiful backdrop for the 1st Annual Lehigh Valley Dairy Farms golf outing on October 15 benefiting Make-A-Wish Foundation® of Philadelphia & Susquehanna Valley, the area's largest wish- granting organization serving seriously ill children. Some 110 golfers participated raising $63,000 for children's wishes like Valerie Colantuono, 11 of Hatboro, who attended the dinner following the golf outing with her family celebrating her wish that came true this August for a family vacation in the Bahamas. Valerie's mom Gerry Colantuono remarked about their trip, "Valerie has undergone a lot of treatments for her illness and the tropical vacation was a welcome break from all the doctor and hospital visits. We have never seen Val smile as much as when we were in Atlantis. We will never forget this wonderful trip." Appearing happy and healthy like most other 11-year-olds, Mrs. Colantuono commented about Val's condition today, "Val's health has greatly improved and we are very pleased with her progress."

Guests enjoyed cocktails and dinner followed by welcoming remarks from Frank Mariello, Vice President and General Manager of Lehigh Valley Dairy Farms. Mr. Mariello spoke to the the attendees with pure excitement as he announced the $63,000 contribution. "It is our pleasure to partner with such a worthy organization, and to help several kids in our area realize their dreams through this annual golf outing."

Mr. Mariello acknowledged a committee of Lehigh Valley employees who organized the event, as well as the following generous sponsors: Integrated Manufacturing Systems, North Penn Imports, S.H. Premier Dairy, Stevens & Lee, Tampico, Thelen, Priesten & Reed, and Lehigh Valley Dairy Farms.

Some local celebrities attended the event-- Paul Jollovitz of WIP who gave an outstanding performance as Master of Ceremonies, Bernie Parent, former Philadelphia Flyers goaltender who helped take the team to the Stanley Cup in 1974 and 1975, and Michel Petit, also a veteran Flyer that resides in the Philadelphia area.

Dennis Heron, Executive Director of Make-A-Wish Foundation® applauded the efforts of Lehigh Valley Dairy Farms and their sponsors for the event "as a remarkable group of people doing great things for sick children. We at Make-A-Wish would not be able to fulfill wishes without the kindness of folks like those present tonight."
