Melanie's Wish
Melanie's Mom writes:
We have spent the last four months reminiscing about our trip to Florida, looking through all of our wonderful pictures and souvenirs. I have spent the last month writing a story about all of our memories of our wonderful trip.
I wanted to write a memory for our daughter Melanie, whose wish was granted to go to Disney World on a "plane". I wanted to do this because our trip was nothing like we ever expected! Nothing! From the beginning we knew the trip was to make Melanie happy and to feel special - but we never imagined everything that we actually experienced and were given.
To be concise is hard because there was so much they did for Melanie and our family. Melanie was in complete happiness daily. Whether we were eating at the ice cream parlor (that opens at 7:30 in the morning), swimming in the pool, going to the Disney parks, running back to the villa to see her gift that was delivered daily, playing in the Castle of Miracles, fishing in the pond, riding the horses, or simply just watching TV and planning our nightly activities such as Christmas at the Village (complete with snow and Santa), Melanie was in her glory.
Thinking about how to thank everyone is hard because it doesn't seem like enough. Everyone from the Make a Wish staff and volunteers (Lauren, Trudy and Brian), to Mike the limo driver, the Nagles our airport greeters, the people who donated to make Melanie's trip possible, and the staff and volunteers of Give Kids the World Village should each be given a special star in the sky. All of these devoted people used "their" time for "my daughter" and our family.
Melanie had a GREAT time, so thank YOU! We are extremely grateful and will treasure our trip always.
